PhD student Ines Dahlia Ouar received an AOGS 2026 Best Student Poster Award for her work on near real-time detection and localization of earthquakes from the ionosphere.
GO-EUREKA team members presented six talks and posters at the AOGS 2026 Annual Meeting in Fukuoka, Japan, spanning invited, oral, and poster sessions on ionospheric earthquake and tsunami detection.
On 24 June 2026, a rare M7.2–M7.5 earthquake doublet struck near Yumare, Venezuela. GO-EUREKA captured the co-seismic energy radiating into the ionosphere as a clear perturbation in Total Electron Content (TEC).
The second GO-EUREKA workshop (WS2) concluded in Rome over 23–24 June 2026, bringing the network together across three sessions on lessons from recent events, near real-time monitoring, and background ionospheric disturbances.
The Rome 2026 event opened on 22 June with the Cassini Day, an Italian–French collaboration conference on advancing tsunami early warning with GNSS ionospheric monitoring.
